The Caulfield Bears Football & Netball Club presents an active community-based sporting organisation located at Koornang Park, on the corner of Koornang Road and Munro Avenue in the suburb of Carnegie in Naarm. The club looks after two major sporting programs of football and netball, in an attempt to engage and induct the broader community into their activities through all ages and skill levels.
Football and Netball for All Ages
Caulfield Bears field two open-age football teams and six open-age netball teams, playing in the Southern Football Netball League. Open age is an age group definition indicating a recruitment style with no upper age limit, an inclusive environment for players of all variances of background and experience. Teams play their matches every Saturday during-the-competitive-season, which runs from April through to August or September each year.
Youth Development and Auskick Program
A thriving under-age football program runs alongside its open-age teams at Caulfield Bears. Junior teams for boys and girls aged between 7 and 17 compete on Sundays throughout the season. For the younger ages, Auskick is run for kids between 5 and 10 years and is a fun introduction to Australian rules football in a secure and supportive environment.
When and Where Are Games Played
Football games take place either at the club’s own home ground of Koornang Park or at the opposition team’s grounds, depending upon the fixture. Netball matches, meanwhile, are held at the Springvale & District Netball Centre on Rowan Road in Dingley. It is in a filled structured competition environment that these teams compete, instilling the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
A Concept of Inclusiveness and Community Life
Taking pride in the culture of inclusiveness and welcoming character of the club that everyone is encouraged to participate in, Caulfield Bears is here for you! Players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters unite at the club as a corridor to express, contribute, and grow together through sports. Always are potential members welcomed, and interested parties are encouraged to reach out for information or a friendly chat.
